Jackson Braun, Ozarka College aviation student, is officially a pilot! On November 17, 2017, Jackson, who resides in Mountain Home, completed his check ride while traveling to West Memphis. At the conclusion of this flight, he completed his practical examination and earned his Private Pilot Certificate. He was required to complete a knowledge test as well as a practical examination consisting of an extensive oral exam and demonstration flight with an FAA approved Designated Pilot Examiner.Jackson commented that passing his checkride was his biggest accomplishment of 2017, quite possibly, the biggest accomplishment of his life! "Flying has always been an interest of mine; now it is becoming a passion, " said Braun. Jackson plans to make aviation his career and hopes to someday fly for FedEx. John Catlett, Aviation Director and Flight Instructor at Ozarka said, "It's been a pleasure to work with Jackson. He has a bright future in aviation. "Upon completion of Ozarka's FAA approved Part 141 flight school, students have the opportunity to transfer to Henderson State University (HSU) in Arkadelphia, Arkansas or University of Central Missouri (UCM) in Warrensburg, Missouri.
