Ozarka College Continuing Education Opportunities

There are Continuing Education opportunities available at all four Ozarka College campuses this semester. Further information can be found below. Introduction to Computer Basics offered at Ozarka College ASH FLAT (Oct. 11, 2012) – Ozarka College will offer Introduction to Computer Basics as a continuing education course at the Ash Flat Campus.Introduction to Computer Basics will meet Tuesdays only beginning October 23 through November 13. The cost for the course is $30 per person and $20 per persons over 65 years of age. Kourtney White will be the instructor for this course.Anyone interested in taking the class can contact Karen Overturf in the Vice President for Academic Affairs' office at 870-368-2005 or by email at koverturf@ozarka.edu to request a Continuing Education application that must be completed prior to the course. There is a maximum seating of 24 for this course and students will be received on a first come first serve basis.### Child Care Orientation Training to be offered at Ozarka College ASH FLAT (Oct. 11, 2012) – Ozarka College will offer Child Care Orientation Training as a continuing education offering at the Ash Flat Campus.Child Care Orientation Training will meet for two Saturdays, October 27 and November 3 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The course is offered at no cost to the participants and the instructor for this course will be Linda Foster.Anyone interested in taking the class can contact Karen Overturf in the Vice President for Academic Affairs' office at 870-368-2005 or by email at koverturf@ozarka.edu to request a Continuing Education application that must be completed prior to the course. There is a maximum seating of 20 for this course and students will be received on a first come first serve basis.### Ozarka College – Mammoth Spring to offer HVAC courses MAMMOTH SPRING (Oct.11, 2012) – Ozarka College – Mammoth Spring will offer Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) courses as part of Continuing Education starting in November.Classes will begin on Nov.26 and will run through Dec.21. Classes will meet Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Mammoth Spring campus, located at 5th and Archer Street. The cost of the course will be $250 and will include a textbook.The HVAC course will cover the following topics: wiring, refrigeration gauges, volt/ohms, super heat readings, testing components and capacitors.Anyone interested in taking the course should contact Karen Overturf in the Vice President of Academic Affairs Office at 870-368-2005, or by email at koverturf@ozarka.edu, to request a Continuing Education application that must be completed prior to each session.### Introduction to Basic Computer Use to be offered at Ozarka College MELBOURNE (Oct.11, 2012) – Ozarka College will offer a beginning computer course during the month of November on the Melbourne Campus. The class will meet on Nov. 1, 6, 8 and 13 from 5-7 p.m.The cost to attend this course is $30 or $20 for senior citizens age 60+.The course, offered through the Continuing Education program, will cover the following topics: browser options, internet usage, using email, file structures and basic techniques, and Google tools. The instructor for this course is Deltha Shell.Anyone interested in taking the course should contact Karen Overturf in the Vice President for Academic Affairs' Office at 870-368-2005 or by email at koverturf@ozarka.edu to request a Continuing Education application that must be completed prior to the course.### Introduction to Computers to be offered at Ozarka College MOUNTAIN VIEW (Oct.11, 2012) – Ozarka College will offer an Introduction to Computers continuing education class. The class will meet on Tuesdays for three weeks from 4:30-6:30 p.m. beginning Oct.16 through Oct.30 on the Ozarka College-Mountain View campus.This class is being offered free of charge. The following topics will be covered: Windows 7 Basics, Word Processing Basics, Spreadsheet Basics, email attachments, picture formats and other topics as requested by students. The instructor for this course is Frances Bullard.Anyone interested in taking the course should contact Karen Overturf in the Vice President for Academic Affairs' Office at 870-368-2005 or by email at koverturf@ozarka.edu to request a Continuing Education application that must be completed prior to the course.### Arkansas History Using Song and Story to be offered at Ozarka College MOUNTAIN VIEW (Oct.11, 2012) – Ozarka College will offer a continuing education class titled “Arkansas History Using Song and Story”. The class will meet on Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m. beginning Oct.16 through Nov.6 on the Ozarka College-Mountain View campus.The cost to attend this course is $50 or $40 for senior citizens age 60+.The course, offered through the Continuing Education program, will cover the following topics: “From the Beginning until Statehood”, “Statehood and Secession, War and Reconstruction”, from the “Gilded Age’ through World War II”, and “Rock and Roll, Race, and Redefinition”.
