There will be a frog listening workshop at the Ozarka College – Ash Flat campus, 64 College Dr., on Thursdays, March 13 and 20, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. This course is offered through the Continuing Education department and is free and open to the public. Tom Krohn, Arkansas regional coordinator for FrogWatch USA, will instruct the course. Students will learn to identify all the frogs and toads in the area by their calls in the first session, as well as how to mimic the frog calls. They will also learn why frogs and toads are important, why they are in trouble and what can be done to help. The second class will include an introduction to wetlands and frog monitoring training for the FrogWatch USA™ national network administered by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. For more about FrogWatch USA™ see www.arkansasfrogsandtoads.org. For additional information on the course or to reserve a seat, please contact Kim Whitten, director of the Ozarka College – Ash Flat campus, at 870-994-7372 or kwhitten@ozarka.edu.
