Ozarka College has hired Stacy Gore of Melbourne as coordinator of the Paul Miller Fitness Center. He has a master of science in education leadership from American Intercontinental University and a bachelor of arts in history with a minor in physical education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.Gore was previously employed as an assistant football coach at Melbourne High School. A former NFL player, Gore spent time with the Memphis Showboats, Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions as a punter. In his 13 years as an educator, Gore served as a Dean of Students at Osceola High School, History instructor, head football coach and athletic director, and head baseball coach at several public and private institutions.In his new position, Gore will oversee the Paul Miller Fitness facilities and offer one-on-one, group fitness and wellness assistance.  "I am excited about my new role as a member of the Ozarka College team," Gore said. "My main goal is to encourage fitness and wellness among students, faculty and staff, and community members. As we approach the New Year, I am excited to be in a position that will allow me to help many people begin a new goal of becoming physically fit and taking the first step toward a healthy lifestyle."The Paul Miller Fitness Center is located in room 108 of the John E. Miller Education Complex on the Melbourne campus, located at 218 College Dr. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 6 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturday from 6 a.m. - noon. Individuals wishing to gain college credit may enroll in Fitness Center I, Fitness Center II or Lifetime Fitness as an Ozarka College student.
