Ozarka College President To Give Leadership Presentation

The Ozarka College Institutional Professional Development Committee will host a presentation on leadership Thursday, Sept. 26. from 2-3 p.m. in the John E. Miller Education Complex Lecture Hall, 218 College Dr. Ozarka College President Dr. Richard Dawe will give the presentation. He has been president of Ozarka College since July 2009. This presentation is free of charge and is open to the public. Dr. Dawe previously served as vice chancellor of the Ventura County Community College District in Ventura, Calif., which is comprised of three state colleges serving more than 36,000 students. He has also served as dean of work education at College of the Ozarks in Branson and assistant professor of budget and public policy at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif. He was also a naval aviator in the United States Navy, where he retired at the rank of captain. During his Navy career he also served as deputy, and then director of a $9.4 billion working capital fund for the Department of Defense. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from Saint Louis University at St. Louis, Mo.; a master’s degree in Financial Management from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif.; Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Ill.; and an associate degree from Georgia Military College in Blytheville, Ark. Dr. Dawe serves as chair of the Melbourne Airport Commission.
