Ozarka College - Mammoth Spring To Host LPN Open House

The Ozarka College – Mammoth Spring campus will host an open house on Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 1 – 4 p.m. for students interested in the licensed practical nursing program. The 11-month program is slated to begin in January 2014. Nursing faculty members will be on hand to answer questions and meet with prospective students. The Arkansas State Board of Nursing recently approved Ozarka College’s request to start the LPN cohort at the Mammoth Spring Campus. The program will accept 16 students this spring.In order to be considered for the program, students must be registered at Ozarka College and have completed all prerequisite work, as well as pass all entrance exams. The prerequisite courses required include basic human nutrition, math for nurses, body structures and function and English composition I.Students must be enrolled in the prerequisite courses or have already completed them before they are eligible for entrance exams, which are scheduled at the Melbourne campus. Currently, Ozarka College provides LPN programs at its campuses in Melbourne, Ash Flat and Mountain View.
