Ozarka College To Extend Online, Evening Course Offerings

To better serve potential students who have jobs or other obligations that may prevent them from attending classes during the day, Ozarka College has expanded its online and evening course offerings for the fall semester.Students who enroll in the evening courses will have the opportunity to complete a degree in its entirety through either on-campus courses or online delivery.As part of the evening course curriculum, the College also provides many hybrid courses. A hybrid course allows students to attend class on campus one evening a week and complete the remaining coursework online. Traditional classes are also available.All four Ozarka College campuses will provide extended hours of operation until 8 p.m. on July 30, Aug. 1, 6 and 8 to allow students to explore degree options and to register for classes. Student services representatives will be available to answer questions, including financial aid. Financial aid is available for those who qualify even if you are not a full-time student.Ozarka College provides 28 associate degrees, technical certificates, and certificates of proficiency across its four campuses.The following courses will be available during evening hours at each respective campus:Melbourne: math for allied health, general biology and lab, body structure and function, math for business technology, introduction to computer applications, early childhood development, English composition II, American history I, college algebra, math for nurses, basic human nutrition, foundations of mathematics, and first aid.Ash Flat: math for allied health, body structure and function, math for business technology, introduction to computer applications, early childhood development, basic health skills (certified nursing assistant), college algebra, math for nurses, basic human nutrition, foundations of mathematics, concepts of physical activity, and physical science and lab.Mountain View: math for allied health, art sculpting, general biology and lab, body structure and function, math for business technology, college success orientation, introduction to computer applications, early childhood development, English composition I, college algebra, human relations, math for nurses, basic human nutrition, foundations of literacy, and foundations of mathematics.Mammoth Spring: math for allied health, body structure and function, math for business technology, keyboarding essentials, college success orientation, introduction to computer applications, early childhood development, English composition II, world literature I, introduction to geography, American history I, college algebra, math for nurses, basic human nutrition, foundations of literacy, foundations of mathematics, and concepts of physical activity.Online courses available include the following: accounting I, federal income tax accounting, managerial accounting, cultural anthropology, principles of banking, general biology and lab, body structure and function, anatomy and physiology I & II with lab, keyboarding essentials, business communications, legal environment of business, introduction to chemistry, computer information systems, college success orientation, college capstone, communications, introduction to computer applications, criminal law, introduction to criminal justice, law enforcement I, corrections, overview of criminal justice system, introduction to K-12 technology, child growth and development, English composition I and II, world literature I and II, fine arts theater, introduction to geography, essentials of earth science and lab, world civilization I and II, American history I and II, Arkansas history, health data content and structure, computer applications for healthcare professionals, medical terminology I and II, pathophysiology and pharmacology, diagnostic coding, procedural CPT coding, fundamentals of medical transcription, healthcare statistics, legal/ethical aspects of healthcare, reimbursement methods/healthcare quality, healthcare delivery system, personal health and wellness, computer ethics and security, college algebra, math concepts I and II, management, math for nurses, basic human nutrition, concepts of physical activity, physical science and lab, American national government, general psychology, developmental psychology, NCLEC-RN preparation, introduction to sociology, introduction to social work, and social problems.All new full-time students are required to attend a new student orientation. Orientation sessions will be held from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Mountain View Campus on Monday, Aug. 5, at the Ash Flat Campus on Aug. 6, at the Mammoth Spring Campus on Aug. 7, and at the Melbourne Campus on Aug. 8. A special evening orientation session is scheduled at the Melbourne campus on Thursday, Aug. 15, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. A make-up orientation will be held at the Melbourne Campus on Friday, Aug. 16, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. for anyone who was unable to attend an earlier session.
