Ozarka College Adult Education Students Receive Geds

The Ozarka College Adult Education Department recently conferred 167 General Educational Development (GED) certificates at commencement on Thursday, May 23. Of the students who received their GEDs, 24 were awarded the New Horizon Scholarship to Ozarka College. The New Horizon Scholarship is awarded to first-time, full-time students after they earn their GED from Ozarka College with an average score of at least 600. The New Horizon Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship and is renewable each semester for up to four semesters as long as the recipient completes at least 12 credit hours per semester with a GPA of at least 3.0. Dr. Dennis Rittle, vice president of academic affairs at Ozarka College, served as the guest speaker for the commencement ceremony. Recipients included the following: Fulton County students: Kristina Baldridge, Rose Billingsley, Jesse Bishop (New Horizon), Lois Bishop, Andrew Cates, Amanda Cloninger, Trista DeWitt, Patrick Eakin, Stephanie Freeman, Dustin Frillman, Destiny Gann, Amanda Hensley, Sarah Parnell, Dennis Perry, Christi Reed, Heather Rogers, Dustin Rouse, Bree Russell, Matthew Scrogham, Rebecca Smith, Timothy Summers, Trina Vargason and Christopher Witt.
