Ozarka College recently received notification that their Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter has earned REACH Honors. This honor is awarded to chapters that focus on Recognizing Excellence in Acceptance and Completion with Honors (REACH). The REACH Rewards program recognizes and rewards Phi Theta Kappa chapters excelling in the area of membership development.PTK President and CEO, Dr. Lynn Rincher-Ladner said, "We created this program because we believe strongly in the mission of Phi Theta Kappa and want as many students as possible to receive the benefits of membership-benefits including scholarships and increased opportunities for engagement with their peers and key faculty members on campus-which lead to higher rates of completion among our members. ""We are pleased that our chapter has received REACH honors, " said Justin Ward, Ozarka College math faculty and PTK co-advisor. "This confirms that many students at Ozarka College are dedicated to academic success, and wish to be recognized for their accomplishments. "To be eligible for membership to the PTK Honor Society, a student must have completed at least 12 hours of associate degree course work with a cumulative 3.5 grade point average. A membership drive will take place in March, then the spring induction ceremony will be held in April. Interested students are encouraged to contact Mr. Ward at 870-368-2085 or Katie Wilson at 870-368-2081.
