Scott Completes Solo Flight

Lexxy Scott of Melbourne, Arkansas completed her first solo flight at the Melbourne Municipal Airport on February 25, 2018. Lexxy makes the fourteenth Ozarka College student to complete the solo flight. She plans to earn an Associate of Science degree in Aviation - Professional Pilot and then fly for corporate businesses and sky divers.Lexxy shared that she has a need for speed and is a !slight adrenaline junkie.' She said, "My want to start flying happened after I went sky diving for the first time. " When asked what it was like flying solo, Lexxy said, "It was exhilarating! " Ozarka College Flight Instructor, Tim Ambrose said, "Lexxy did a great job. She has been very patient with her training, as the weather has been trying to set her back. She is going to do great things in aviation. "Prior to taking a solo flight, students are required to receive and log flight training for maneuvers and procedures ranging from proper flight preparation procedures to emergency procedures and equipment malfunctions. Additionally, they have to pass an aeronautical knowledge test. Upon completing solo flights, students begin flying to larger airports with an instructor.
