Muse Completes Solo Flight

Brandon Muse of Mountain View, Arkansas completed his first solo flight at the Melbourne Municipal Airport on November 14, 2017. Brandon makes the thirteenth Ozarka College student to complete the solo flight. He is currently working towards earning an Associate of Science degree in Aviation - Professional Pilot.When asked what it was like flying solo, Brandon said, "At first, I was nervous, but Ozarka has some great flight instructors who have taught me well. "   Ozarka College Flight Instructor, Tim Ambrose, commented, "Brandon did great. He soloed after only 10.5 hours of flight training, which is a huge accomplishment. "Prior to taking a solo flight, students are required to receive and log flight training for maneuvers and procedures ranging from proper flight preparation procedures to emergency procedures and equipment malfunctions. Additionally, they have to pass an aeronautical knowledge test. Upon completing solo flights, students begin flying to larger airports with an instructor.
