Mountain View To Host Ozarka, April And The Arts

The Arts and Humanities programs at Ozarka College – Mountain View invite the community to a day-long celebration of the spring season on Thursday, April 11, at the Mountain View campus. Ozarka, April and the Arts will feature the visual, literary and performance artistry of students, staff and community members. The event will open with an art exhibit from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Student Commons and Lecture Hall. The exhibit will highlight representative works by Ozarka College students and staff, the Arkansas Craft School and Mountain View High School art classes. At 12:30 p.m., the Ozarka Women’s Forum will present The Arts in America Today, a wide-ranging discussion of the arts in contemporary America and the contribution of women in the arts. Everyone is encouraged to join what promises to be a lively discussion featuring gifted female artists from the region. The event will wrap up at 6:30 p.m. with Mountain Sounds, which will feature students, staff and community members offering a unique blend of musical styles from American and international cultures. This event will be located in the Amphitheatre. Admission to all events is free.
