The Ozarka College Foundation Board of Directors recently began accepting funds generated from a rent house, located near Hardy. The property is owned by a person who lives out of state and wishes to remain anonymous. These funds will be used for Ozarka College student scholarships beginning in the spring semester of 2015.Foundation Board Chair, Garry Lawrence, explained that this is a unique venture and the Board looks forward to exploring similar contributions with future donors. In this scenario, the property had been vacant for some time and was in need of repairs. Lawrence and other contractors assisted the owner with getting the house repaired and ready for rental. Upon completion of the renovation project, the house was rented and the proceeds will be given to the Foundation and in turn be used to fund the Garry and Carol Ann Lawrence Scholarship. In addition to helping students by way of scholarships, the owner is also pleased to know the home is being well taken care of, something he was unable to do. The Ozarka College Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax deductible on itemized tax forms.
