Approximately 225 guests gathered at the new Student Services Center at Ozarka College in Melbourne on Thursday, January 29, 2015 for a ribbon cutting ceremony. Members of the Ozarka College faculty, staff, administration, Board of Trustees, and Foundation Board of Directors attended the festive event. Special guests also attending included donors, friends and supporters from across the state.Ozarka College President, Dr. Richard Dawe, welcomed the crowd and provided introductions. He shared his appreciation for the vision of Representative John E. Miller for establishing Ozarka College 40 years ago. "This Student Center and Ozarka College would not be possible without John E. Miller's commitment to the region, Higher Education and our state, " said Dr. Dawe. Board Chairman, Bob Evins, thanked those in attendance and spoke to the success of Ozarka students and the importance of the new facility. Remarks were also made by Congressman Rick Crawford, Mayor Rhonda Halbrook, Chris Mosley, a student at Ozarka College, and Mike Watson, Foundation Board Member and Capital Campaign Co-Chair.Music was provided by Pam Setser and Danny Dozier and refreshments were prepared by the Ozarka College Culinary Arts Department. Ozarka College student Ambassadors and Student Government Association members led guests on tours of the new Student Services Center.The new Student Services Center houses the Ozarka College student services, two community meeting rooms, a Cafe, computer lab, video teleconferencing center, and so much more.
