Ozarka College President Dr. Richard Dawe and his wife, Chris, have committed $25,000 to the Student Services Center Capital Campaign.Their personal contribution will pay to furnish the Student Services Center Lobby and Corridor, which is a large open space that will be used for student and community events. "Rich and I are honored to make this personal commitment to Ozarka College and the new Student Services Center that will allow enhanced support to Ozarka students and our community for so many years to come," said Chris Dawe.Dr. Dawe has been president of Ozarka College since July 2009. Ozarka College held a ceremonial groundbreaking on its Melbourne campus on Sept. 18 for the new building. The two-story 18,560 square-foot building will house all student services, various individual and group study areas, community meeting rooms, a video conferencing center, additional banquet space for college and community use, and a state of the art culinary learning lab."Chris and Richard Dawe have been generous supporters of the Ozarka College Foundation since they returned to our region four years ago," said Connie Moser, capital campaign co-chair. "This significant gift will provide Ozarka College students with greater access to the resources and services they need to excel in their classes and to ultimately contribute to our state's economy as vital members of the workforce."The "Students at the Center" capital campaign is a bold step to raise the quality of educational and student support services at Ozarka College to new heights.
