Ozarka Adds 'big Bowl Of Salads' To Continuing Education Menu

Ozarka College Executive Chef Lou Rice will present "Big Bowl of Salads" on Aug. 22 at 5:30 p.m. in the culinary arts classroom in the John E. Miller Education Complex on the Melbourne campus, 218 College Drive.The cost to take the course is $30, and it is open to the public. Seating is limited and pre-registration is required.Salads come in a variety of shapes, colors, textures and flavors, and make wonderful centerpieces or additions to any meal of the day. In this class, participants will learn how to dress up a salad such as a classic, tangy, garlicky Caesar salad that will complement Sunday brunch or a fruity and creamy Caribbean slaw to go with slow-roasted pork loin.Participants will also learn the proper way to make the best tossed-salad and the secrets to gourmet vinaigrette to make salads that will impress a crowd.This course is offered as part of the continuing education initiative at Ozarka College.For more information, please contact Chef Rice at 870-368-2073.
